Lebanon is a place for widows who live and work together. By joint effort they can keep a living after losing their husband. Many of them have lived there for decades and Lebanon is now the home for their children and grand children.

Chai

Chai is more than a sweet tea. If you find the chai shop in India you have found one of the nerve centers of Indian culture. Chai plays a big part of the society it is not only about a hot drink. Drinking chai builds relationships between people. It is a social activity – you never drink chai alone.

Walking under the full moon

Every month when there is a full moon the moods changes and half a million pilgrims goes to the city of Tirruvannamalai in Southern India. To honor and pray to the Hindu god Shiva they walk barefooted around the city’s holy mountain Arunachala.

Without parents

From the outside the institution “Bakkevej” looks like any other public Danish institution. But for the children there it is home. “Elvaerket” which is a part of the institution targets the teenagers. Here the staffs try to talk with orphans about some of the things they have been through. And also to give them tools so the can live on their own when the turn 18.

Alex has been living at “Bakkevej” the most part of his childhood. Soon he is turning 18 years old and have to face the challenges of being an adult.
